Joey came out on top in this round. #hallway100

I swear, the only time kids are beat up for “lunch money” is in TV shows and movies. I think it must have happened in the 50s, and became memorialized in television. Am I wrong? Have you ever seen this happen (aside for TV) between now and the 90s? People got beat up in school, but never for lunch money. I think a bully would get beat up for even asking for lunch money.

Then again, my school didn’t have a cafeteria. We brought out own lunches. And no one wanted those. So maybe that’s why this idea is so foreign to me. I never understood what the big deal about lunch money was in Arthur. And I’m talking about classic 90s Arthur, not whatever it’s morphed into nowadays.

Tangent over.
